Who said roosters ruled the roost? Buffy gets put in his place

Roosters are always thought to be the dominant ones, with the hens meekly submitting to them and the boys getting all "cocky" that they always get their way. We all thought that right?

We'll that's definitely not the case! As Buffy found out on the weekend, some hens will put young roosters in their place. And not gently either!

When I took this video, I thought the Buffy was after Flopsy, who can be seen in the background. But to my surprise, he went after the nearby Effie.

It starts off innocently enough, Buffy saunters over, finds something to distract him and pecks at it. Dreaming of Effie falling into his wings and crouching in front of him as he pulls at a weed, he suddenly decides the time is right. Time to woo her with a wing dance....

Unfortunately Effie didn't fall for him, actually, she puffed up and tried to show this little upstart that SHE was the boss!

Buffy also puffed up but then decided to try a different tactic, the "Oh I'm injured. HELP ME!" tactic. Effie being older and wiser saw right through him and tried to stomp, literally stomp, this nonsense out of him.

The meek Buffy then gets the idea, when Effie says NO, she means NO. Can't mess with a girl in that mood. He then nonchalantly wanders away, to his awaiting flock of (submissive) hens.

Hopefully Buffy has learned his lesson. But then again, I've seen him get beaten up by Effie quite a bit and he still hasn't cottoned on!

Hope everyone else got a chuckle out of this!
