Shell Grit in Adelaide

Nearly all the chicken books and online resources tell me that chickens need shell grit. In particular oyster shell grit. Shell grit is to provide the hens with a source of calcium and oyster shell is supposedly high in calcium.

Normal grit, which is just sand and small rocks, aids chicken digestion (since they don't have teeth), but since my chickens free range, they get all the sand grit that they need.

When we went around to the grain stores, they don't sell oyster shell grit. They do sell grit, which is mainly sand with a few shells in it.

Then I was browsing the pet section in BigW and came across this:
Even though it is for parrots, I thought, why not? It is calcium enriched and the shells are bound to be a source of calcium anyway. At $4 a bag it is worth a try.

I've provided it in a small container for the chickens to help themselves and I've seen the Araucana's eat from it and no problems from them. In fact, they have started to lay again after the winter, YAY!
